Hollywood Hills Mid-century with Views, 1948
Production designer and artist, Vance Lorenzini has taken this 1948 Mid-century residence in the Hollywood Hills, and created a well-appointed “Bird’s Nest” to showcase his art. Sited at almost the ‘top of the world,’ dramatic views abound in all directions, while simultaneously maintaining maximum privacy. The ample deck just outside the living room’s glass walls, brings the outdoors in, and affords panoramic views that include downtown, the Griffith Park Observatory, as well as out to the ocean. Mr. Lorenzini also hand built a separate “bunk house,” a western-themed writing room, in addition to a lounging area just below that includes a hot tub, fire pit and seating. The residence also includes: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, eat-in kitchen, open-plan living and dining room with fireplace, and a converted garage for additional living or work space. Steps from the walking trails in view of bucolic Lake Hollywood, and Beachwood Canyon’s shops, restaurants, and neighborhood market are nearby.
